Individual Counseling Services
We provide support to clients by giving insight into patterns in life that leave them feeling overwhelmed and stuck. With fresh insights and tools, our practice empowers clients to create positive and lasting change in their lives. We specialize in providing affirming support to Black and Brown individuals.
Couples and Family Therapy
Using innovative approaches as Narrative and Structural Family Therapy, we find healthy ways to overcome relational conflict and develop a higher level of satisfaction in relationships. We provide emotionally safe, supportive, and affirming services to couples and families, including those that identify as LGBTQIA+.
Premarital Counseling Services
We assist couples with establishing fundamental values and communication guidelines in preparation for marriage. We focus on providing tools and strategies to address potential challenges before marriage, to support the couple in creating the partnership they desire.
Telehealth Supervision & AAMFT Mentoring
We assist associates in sharpening their skill set in the ethical application of the therapeutic model of their choosing. Additionally, we provide supportive mentoring to AAMFT Supervisor Candidates working to strengthen their systemic supervision skills.

What are your fees for services?
Therapy- Initial Session (1 hour and 15 minutes) - $200- Individual Therapy Session - $175 per session*- Family or Couples Therapy Session - $175 per session*
LPC/LMFT Associate Supervision/Mentoring- Individual Telehealth Supervision/AAMFT Mentoring - $70 per hour per session- Group Telehealth Associate Supervision (2 or more associates) - $35 per person per hour session*Sessions are 55 minutes in length.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). Payment is due at the time of service.
Do you provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE), and what are my rights?
- A"Good Faith Estimate" explains how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. With a "Good Faith Estimate" (GFE): - You have the right to receive the total expected cost of non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment and hospital fees.- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) in writing at least one (1) business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate (GFE), you can dispute the bill.- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate (GFE).- You can resolve issues or inquiries by visiting www.cms.gov/nosurprises or by calling 1-800-985-3059.
What should I expect when I begin therapy? How many sessions will I need to attend in therapy?
The number of therapy sessions that you attend are up to you. In consultation with your therapist, you can determine the therapy model that best fits you as well as your therapeutic goals. Once you complete assessment, you and your therapist can talk about an estimated amount of time. To work on a particular goal. Your therapist will continuously assess your ongoing needs and help you determine your plan for therapy. Ultimately, you may leave therapy at anytime, but it is typically best to do so in consultation with your therapist.
What type of therapy will I receive?
After your therapist completes a thorough assessment of your needs and strengths, through collaborative decision-making, you and your therapist will discuss potential therapy methods that best suit your needs. Jointly you will make a decision on the therapy model that may be helpful in overcoming your challenges. A list and description of the possible therapy models that could be used to support your or your family's goals in therapy are listed below.
Therapy Models: Narrative Therapy, Structural Therapy, EMDR, Trauma Focused CBT, Family Systems, Child Center Play Therapy, Directive Play Therapy and others. Speak with you therapist to learn more about the models they use.

NOTICES TO ALL CLIENTS

Records Requests: To inspect and copy your records, you may request an electronic or paper copy. The Practice may charge you a reasonable fee. The Practice may deny your request if it believes the disclosure will endanger your life or another person's life. You may have a right to have this decision reviewed. Please note that records are destroyed approximately seven years after an adult client completes counseling and five years after a child/adolescent client completes therapy and turns 18 years old. To request records, the client must submit a written request to fholloway@designedtothrivepllc or by US mail to Designed to Thrive, PLLC445 FM 1382 Ste 3-187 Cedar Hill, Texas 75104. Records requests will be fulfilled, if appropriate, within 15 business days of the practice's receipt of the written request.
Complaints: While we hope you will contact us directly with any concerns about our services, you may submit complaints to our licensing boards if you feel your issue has not been resolved. To file a complaint, you must submit the Council’s complaint form. The completed form can be sent by email to Enforcement@bhec.texas.gov or by mail to 1801 Congress Avenue, Suite 7.300, Austin, Texas 78701.
